backpacking and camping are enjoyable pastimes and often, all it takes is a carefully prepared meal to replenish one’s energy. With the variety of camping cookware available these days, a warm, inviting meal is now possible even in the backwoods.

It‘s important to take good care in choosing cooking essentials for your outdoor explorations. You will want to consider how much weight you are willing to carry. After all, camping cookware is now rarely isolated to just a camp stove. There are numerous cooking accessories and you’ll find that many of the options available are now sold in sets. Of course, you can always do with the basics but to make your outdoor meals more pleasurable, an extra soup bowl or coffee mug won’t hurt.

You also need to consider the type of material the cooking set is made of. Aluminum camping cookware is popular because it is lightweight, inexpensive and holds heat well. There are however, health risks associated with aluminium and you may want to go with cast-iron, titanium or stainless steel cookware.

Another consideration in choosing camping cookware is the number of people on the trip. For large groups, a set is more appropriate as you want to have enough utensils for everyone. If you‘re camping with a friend then buying separate pieces will be more cost-efficient.
